Listen for Kind Voices

At bedtime Irene's nurse told her stories.

"When the sun goes down, stay inside," she said. "If you feel lost, listen for kind, friendly voices — not grumpy ones."

Irene nodded. She wanted to be brave. But in the stories the mines went down, down, down. That made her feel a little nervous.
