The Old Woman's Trap

The cottage door creaked open, and a hunched old woman stepped out, smiling with crooked teeth.

"Come in, come in, dear children," she said sweetly. "You must be hungry. I have a warm supper waiting."

Hansel and Gretel, tired and cold, followed her inside — not knowing the old woman was not kind at all, and had built her sweet little house just to lure hungry children like them.

That very night, she locked Hansel away in a small cage in the yard.
