A Hasty Mistake

“The gold must be inside her,” the farmer decided. “If I look inside, I could have it all today, instead of waiting for years!”

Despite his wife's protests, the farmer carried the goose to the yard.

But when he looked inside, he found no treasure at all — only an ordinary goose, just like any other.

And because of his haste, their goose could never lay another golden egg again.
