An Invitation to the Ball

One day, an invitation arrived from the palace. The king was holding a grand ball, and every young woman in the kingdom was invited — including the prince himself would be looking for a bride.

Cinderella's stepsisters squealed with excitement, already imagining their fine new gowns.

“Cinderella, iron our dresses! Curl our hair! Polish our shoes!” they ordered.

Cinderella worked all day preparing her stepsisters for the ball, though she quietly wished she could go too.
