The Lobster Quadrille

“Shall we try the Lobster Quadrille?” said the Mock Turtle.

He and the Gryphon danced solemnly round and round Alice, singing of a whiting and a snail: “Will you walk a little faster?”

Then they asked Alice to recite, but the words came out quite wrong again, all about a lobster and his buttons.

At last the Mock Turtle sang “Beautiful Soup” in a voice choked with sobs.

From far away came a cry: “The trial's beginning!” The Gryphon took Alice's hand, and away they ran.
