Eight Cousins

Rose had eight cousins who lived near Aunt Hill.

Their names were Archie, Charlie, Mac, Steve, Will, Jamie, Geordie, and Frank.

They were loud, fast, and full of jokes.

Rose peeked around a chair. So many voices! She felt shy.

Uncle Alec sat beside her. "You don't have to meet them all at once," he said. "One cousin at a time is just fine."
