The Boy Who Cried Wolf · Page 2 of 7
Wolf! Wolf!
One afternoon, the boy had an idea. Just for fun, he cupped his hands and shouted down toward the village.
“Wolf! Wolf! A wolf is attacking the sheep!”
The villagers dropped what they were doing and came running up the hill, carrying sticks and shovels to chase the wolf away.
But when they arrived, there was no wolf at all — only the boy, laughing at the trick he had played.
“You should have seen your faces!” he giggled.
The villagers were not amused. They shook their heads and walked back down the hill.
