No One Came

Down in the village, the people heard his cries.

“It's just that boy again,” one villager sighed, shaking her head. “We won't be fooled a third time.”

No one came running this time. Not one villager climbed the hill.

The boy called out again and again, but his voice was carried away by the wind, unanswered.
