Pig and Pepper

Alice came to a house where the air was so thick with pepper that everyone sneezed. Inside, the Duchess nursed a howling baby while the cook threw pots and pans about, and a large cat sat grinning on the hearth.

When the Duchess left for the Queen's croquet game, she tossed the baby to Alice — and it turned into a pig, which trotted quietly away into the wood.

The Cheshire Cat appeared in a tree. “We're all mad here,” it said, and slowly vanished, leaving only its grin.
